Sri LankaWhat makes this place worth the journey.
Set just outside Jaffna’s bustling town centre, Fox Resorts Jaffna is a boutique sanctuary that blends quiet refinement with northern Sri Lankan warmth. Once a private residence steeped in wartime history, today it stands reborn as a contemporary heritage hotel—complete with curated art, tranquil gardens, and echoes of the region’s resilient spirit.
The reasons travellers book around this place.
Hidden behind palm-lined walls on the Jaffna–Kankesanturai Road, Fox Resorts Jaffna is a world apart. The property once sheltered civilians during Sri Lanka’s civil conflict—its underground bunkers now preserved as part of a living museum. Today, Fox curates a distinctive stay experience: art-filled interiors, northern cuisine, and quiet courtyards alive with birdsong
The dry, bright window and the months to sit out.
From Colombo airport (CMB), three good ways down the coast.
Roughly 2–2½ hrs on the E01 Southern Expressway from the airport. The way we send most guests — door to door, stop when you like.
The Colombo–Matara line hugs the shore for stretches. Slower and less predictable, but a lovely ride if you sit on the right, ocean side.
Air-conditioned coaches run Colombo–Galle in about two hours for a few dollars. Frequent, but no help with bags or timing.

A sheltered, palm-backed crescent — the south coast's easiest swimming beach, with reef snorkelling at the Jungle Beach end.
Forty minutes east, small-boat trips head out at dawn for blue and sperm whales passing the continental shelf.

Where to eat and drink at the hotel.
